Irene Farinas received her B.A. in Sociology from UCLA in 1998 and her J.D. in 2002 from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles. While attending law school, Irene interned at the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles and the California Women’s Law Center. She also participated in the Loyola Law School Center for Conflict Resolution, where she provided conflict resolution services to members of the community.
After graduating from law school, Irene practiced criminal defense as a Deputy Public Defender with the Riverside County Public Defender’s Office, where she litigated twenty-one trials before a jury. Following her career in criminal defense and prior to joining Fine, Boggs & Perkins LLP, Irene worked at a small-sized civil litigation firm in Riverside County, where she defended public entities against civil rights allegations and a variety of employment law matters in state and federal court.
Irene represents clients in employment law matters that include claims of wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment and retaliation as well as state and federal wage and hour issues. She is admitted to practice before all courts of the State of California and the United States District Court for the Central District of California. In addition, Irene counsels clients regarding compliance with employment laws and in the preparation of employment policies/handbooks. Irene is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association and has also volunteered her time as an attorney coach for youth participating in the Constitutional Rights Foundation Mock Trial Program. |
