John Boggs received his Juris Doctorate in 1994 from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he graduated with great distinction and was selected Order of the Coif. During law school, Mr. Boggs served as Primary Editor of the Transnational Lawyer. Prior to establishing Fine, Boggs & Perkins LLP, Mr. Boggs was with a national labor and employment firm in its San Francisco Bay Area office.

Mr. Boggs provides preventive training to numerous businesses, as well as trade associations such as the California Motor Car Dealers Association and the California Restaurant Association. He also advises clients on a wide variety of employment issues, including, pre-employment screening, employee terminations, employment agreements, discrimination and harassment, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, wage and hour laws, collective bargaining negotiations, drug and alcohol testing, workers’ compensation issues, and various other employment-related state and federal laws. He has assisted employers in developing, implementing, and analyzing employee handbooks, personnel policies, such as anti-harassment policies, and proper discipline and discharge procedures.

Mr. Boggs spends a good portion of his practice defending clients in all aspects of employment and labor-related litigation, including wage and hour class action defense and fair employment practices class action defense. 

Mr. Boggs has significant experience representing clients in the motor vehicle, retail and hospitality industries. He was employed in the motor vehicle industry before and during college, and a significant portion of his practice involves dealer-related issues. He is intimately familiar with the special issues auto dealers, hotels, restaurants and gaming establishments face when it comes to labor and employment issues. 

Mr. Boggs is also the founder and legal mind behind HotlinkHR, Inc., an automated, web-based Human Resources service helping employers navigate the modern mine field of HR legal compliance issues and forcing the proper HR Best Practices.

Prior to college, Mr. Boggs lived in South America and speaks fluent Spanish. 

Mr. Boggs is admitted to practice before the United States District Court, Northern District of California, the Eastern District of California, the Central District of California, the Southern District of California, the District of Arizona, the District of Colorado and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal, as well as all California state courts. Mr. Boggs is also regularly admitted pro hac vice in numerous other state and federal courts.
