Michael Perkins received his B.A. from Brigham Young University and received his J.D. from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where he was selected for the Dean’s List and awarded the American Jurisprudence Award for academic excellence. Prior to establishing Fine, Boggs & Perkins, Mr. Perkins was with a national labor and employment firm in its San Francisco Bay Area office.

Mr. Perkins focuses on employment-related issues. He has successfully concluded cases on a wide variety of employment issues, including discrimination and harassment, cases arising under the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act, breach of employment contracts, California and federal class action wage and hour claims, workers’ compensation issues, and other employment-related matters alleging violations of state and federal laws. Mr. Perkins is also experienced in temporary restraining orders and injunctions in work-place violence situations, and he regularly assists employers in developing, implementing, and updating employee handbooks and personnel policies, such as zero-tolerance harassment/ discrimination policies, and effective EEO procedures. In addition to litigation, Mr. Perkins also provides training to owners, managers, supervisors and employees on various aspects of employment law, including zero-tolerance harassment/ discrimination training, investigating complaints brought by employees or others in the workplace, and proper interviewing and hiring practices.

During college Mr. Perkins lived and worked in South America, where he learned to speak, read, and write fluent Spanish. Prior to his admission to the bar, Mr. Perkins worked for the United States Attorney’s Office in the asset-forfeiture and civil divisions. Mr. Perkins is admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, the Eastern District of California, the Central District of California, the District of Arizona, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal, and the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeal as well as all California courts. He is a member of the San Francisco County, San Mateo County, and American Bar Associations.
